  • Financial support to selected, qualified students for our year-long courses
  • Partial scholarships in partnership with NYC area yoga studios and somatic training centers
  • Full scholarship to support a multidisciplinary practitioner

As part of our commitment to education, life-long learning, service and opportunity, we provide financial support to selected, qualified students who would like to study with us. Our scholarship program focuses on supporting teachers and practitioners interested in extending and deepening their skills, knowledge and embodiment. By providing a space where teachers are invited to engage experientially and intellectually in their own learning, we hope to contribute to the growth and embodiment of the larger body — our local and increasing far-flung community. For more information on the scholarships we offer, or to donate, read on below.

The Judy Feldman Memorial Scholarship

Judy Feldman - SSW

In memory and honor of Judy Feldman, who was a beloved long-time student at and friend of The Breathing Project, and who we lost in 2013, we’ve created a full-tuition scholarship to be awarded to one student each year. Inspired by Judy’s full-hearted curiosity and engagement in multiple somatic approaches — which for Judy included dance, Body-Mind Centering®, Alexander Technique and EyeBody® — we offer this scholarship to multidisciplinary teachers and practitioners. Applications are being accepted from students with previous training in at least two fields of somatic study. Possibilities include (but are not limited to) yoga, Continuum, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Body-Mind Centering, EyeBody and other somatic practices.

The application period for the 2016-17 course year is open until June 15, 2016 and the notification date is July 1. Follow this link for a scholarship application.
