Edya Kalev

photo of Edya KalevEdya was a "Pilgrim" before she was a yoga teacher, having spent the last five years working in costume at Plimoth Plantation, a living-history museum in Plymouth, MA. After suffering from back pain (just you try hauling buckets of water with a yoke, wearing a corset and wool petticoats!) she turned to yoga for relief.

In early 2005, she traveled to India to complete yoga teacher training at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Kerala, and to volunteer teach at the Red Cross Center in Dharamsala. Since her trip, she has studied anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff and post-natal yoga with Jyothi Larson at The Breathing Project, as well as therapeutic yoga with Sheri Clampett and Arturo Peal at the White Lotus Foundation. She returned to India in 2008 to attend a Yoga Therapy Intensive program with TKV Desikachar at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai.

Edya's gentle and intuitive teaching style is appropriate to all levels of yoga enthusiasts. Edya is also a certified Reiki II Practitioner and a certified MELT instructor (Myofascial Energetic Length Technique).
