About Uma McNeill
Uma Elizabeth McNeill first studied yoga at the Jivamukti Yoga center in 1990. A year later, she went to India to get her Sivananda Yoga Teachers' Training Certification in Neyyar Dam, Kerala, and Astanga Yoga training with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore. She has since studied with a variety of teachers in the United States and India, most notably, within the tradition of T.K.V. Desikachar. Uma teaches assisted self-practice and does therapeutic yoga work in the Berkshires. Her teaching method was the original inspiration for The Breathing Project's Madras-style program.
